# What is Block Green?

Block Green is a **liquidity** **protocol** centered around Bitcoin. Our team is building innovative financial products at the crossroad of **Bitcoin and renewable energy assets**, introducing real world applications around Bitcoin.

As a starting point, Block Green will allow Bitcoin mining operations to access **fair and transparent** **liquidity** via dedicated financial solutions on-chain. Miners will be able to use their live hashrate and its forecasted future Bitcoin revenue in order to access immediate liquidity.

On the other end of the protocol, bitcoin holders will be able to expose their assets and receive **bitcoin rewards**. Block Green aims at unlocking on-chain liquidity for miners with sustainability in mind and supporting cross-chain financing mechanisms. In a second stage, Block Green will develop further Bitcoin liquidity applications for the Lightning Network and structure multi-strategy liquidity pools. **We will expand our verticals** by integrating algorithmic strategies to our pools and by partnering with renewable energy producers.
